Let God decide? Ederson still not choosing to stay at Man City or move out

The future of Ederson Manchester City goalkeeper is expected to leave the team this summer. With Saudi Arabian clubs reportedly interested, however, according to The Athletic, Al Nassr have already pulled out of the race for Ederson, while Al Ittihad have yet to make any progress. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has said he wants Ederson to stay at City. After City’s 3-2 defeat to AC Milan in a friendly on Sunday morning, Ederson told reporters that he is happy at the club but has not made a decision on his future. “Nothing has been decided yet. It’s great to hear Pep say that. It’s been eight seasons with him, with good times and not so good times. He’s very easy to work with. He’s a football genius, as everyone knows. So it’s great to hear that from him.”

“I’m happy here, having good times with my team-mates. I’m enjoying getting my fitness back. Whatever happens is in God’s hands and I know it’s going to be the right thing, no matter what you give me. I would be happy about that.”

Ederson quashed Ortega beef rumours: “Not true at all”

Previously, in the final stretch of the Premier League season 2023-2024, there was news that Ederson had a falling out with the number two goalkeeper of the Sky Blues, “Stefan Ortega”, which was followed by rumors about a team transfer in the summer between July and August.

However, the Brazilian national team goalkeeper has come out to clarify via his personal Instagram that he and Ortega have no feud between them. “I would like to clarify the message that The Athletic published yesterday (Thursday) which claimed that I was not satisfied with my teammates, which is not true at all. The day that was mentioned in the report was definitely one of the most difficult days of my career. When I got injured, the bone (eye socket) broke. It prevented me from playing in the last stretch of the season. And as a result, I did not play for my country in the Copa America.”

He continued, “When I was injured, my only thought was to finish the match to prevent Man City from fighting for the championship. But the feeling in that match was bigger than the reality. I could not continue playing as I wanted because of the damage that happened. It made my vision poor. I am still focused on preparing for this season.”
